Lily is a miniature American Eskimo. She was born on March 20, 2010.

Distinguishing Characteristics

Lily is playful and curious pup. You can tell when she is listening intently because she tilts her head just so, looking into your eyes as you talk to her. She is a smart little girl and loves to cuddle on the couch at night.

Do you have any canine housemates?

No, I get the house all to myself.

How did you join your family?

My mom adopted me from a family in upstate New York. I'm so excited to be in Chicago now!

Do you have any “jobs”? Tell us about them and what you like most about them.

I am a therapy dog with Rainbow Animal Assisted Therapy. I work at nursing homes, schools and facilities for individuals with developmental disabilities, and schools. I am also a volunteer dog with Safe Humane. I love going to events with lots of people and getting fed yummy treats.

Do you have any “hobbies”?

I love to do agility. The A-frame is my favorite trick because it is so tall. I also love jumping through hula hoops.

What is your favorite trick?

I love to twirl around on my hind legs. My mom calls this "dancing."

What is your favorite toy?

I love all kinds of toys--balls, rawhide, stuffed animals, and chew toys. My favorite toy right now is a stuffed raccoon.

What is your favorite treat?

Rawhide. Give me more rawhide!

What do you like to do when your parents aren’t home?

I sleep when I'm home alone. Thank goodness my mom leaves sometimes, otherwise I wouldn't get any rest at all.

Is there anything you would like to tell us about your work with Safe Humane Chicago or anything else?

I'm so excited to meet more people through the Safe Humane programs.
