Do you have any canine housemates?
I’m the only one!
How did you join your family?
Luckily for me, someone dropped me off on the road on Thanksgiving Day, and some really nice people stopped to pick me up. They foster for a dog rescue in Chicago so it couldn’t have been more perfect! Meanwhile my mom and dad were looking for a companion and saw me online. They met me only a few days after I was rescued, and I knew they were the ones for me, so I snuggled up on my dad’s lap and gave him a kiss. He was sold, and so was my mom. They adopted me and I’ve been with them ever since!
Do you have any “jobs”? Tell us about them and what you like most about them.
I was so excited to be approved as a Safe Humane Ambassador Dog so I could go to work with my mom and meet all kinds of people! My favorite part is putting on my purple vest and getting lots of pets and treats.
Do you have any “hobbies”?
My favorite hobby is agility. I love to zoom all over the agility course when my mom is trying to get my attention. It’s so fun!
What is your favorite trick?
My favorite trick I’m learning right now is “Say prayers.” Even when my mom doesn’t ask me to, I’ll jump on the couch and say prayers, looking for a treat!
What is your favorite toy?
My favorite toy is a tennis ball. I don’t get them very often because I don’t like to give them back. If I’m not chewing on a tennis ball, I love a big purple football.
What is your favorite treat?
Anything! I especially love red bell peppers and peanut butter though. I’ll drool a big puddle if I think I may be getting one of those treats.
What do you like to do when your parents aren’t home?
When my parents aren’t home, I’m usually at daycare, playing with all my friends. Otherwise I might be doing things Mom and Dad don’t like too much like chewing and barking!
Is there anything you would like to tell us about your work with Safe Humane Chicago or anything else?
I’m a little on the shy side, but I’m very gentle and sweet! As it turns out, I especially love going to the Illinois Youth Center because the boys give me so many treats and attention! I’ll do all of my tricks in a row, as fast as I can just for treats from the Illinois Youth Center boys. It’s wonderful to be involved doing something so good for our community!
