Safe Humane Chicago's 2017 Calendar (/dancing-with-court-case-dogs-2017)
Photographed by Josh Feeney
Choreographed by Debra Nanni
More than a dozen Court Case Dogs and some three dozen dancers representing about a dozen dance studios grace the 32 pages of this beautiful 9"x12" keepsake calendar. The inspiration came from Safe Humane Volunteer Debra Nanni:
I have been a Safe Humane Court Advocate for 5 years and a professional teacher-choreographer for 30 years. The creation of the 2017 calendar started with my envisioning my love of both beautiful dogs and artistic dancers blended together through Josh Feeney's wonderful photography. Two communities joined together in a moment of beauty. The passionate dance community, so giving in nature just as these benevolent dogs are, each having a dedicated group of supporters and teachers advocating for them to succeed. This calendar is about inspiration, love and dedication that I see around me.
Thank you so much to my compassionate dance community for believing in this project and donating your time with me. And thank you to the amazing Safe Humane and rescue community amongst us for believing that these amazing dogs deserve a wonderful life.
The conceptualization was a joint project of Debra and photographer Josh Feeney, who set up each photography shoot in a unique setting. If you like the cover photo of Court Case Dog Griswold with beautiful dancer Brier Barbeau in Busse Woods, wait until you see the rest! NOTE: Calendars are now available for pick up or shipping.
