The Dude is a male Basset Hound born on 03/13/08.

Here are some questions we asked The Dude:

Do you have any canine housemates?

Yes, I have three sisters, Kayla, Sibley, Sand and three brothers, Bailey, Toby, Billie.

How did you join your family?

My mom was at the hound specialty when a friend introduced her to my breeder. I couldn’t be shown in the pretty dog shows, so I needed to find a new forever home. Mom fell in love with me at first sight.

Do you have any “jobs”? Tell us about them and what you like most about them.

I am the agility Basset extordinaire! I also do Rally and Obedience.

Do you have any “hobbies”?

I love catching crickets, though I don’t get to do that as much. I really like just hanging out and sleeping.

Do you do any tricks? What is your favorite?

I have a few, not as many as Kay, but I am trying. I really like “Tell Me” and “Dead Dog”.

What is your favorite toy?

I like plastic bottles the most.

What is your favorite treat?

Cheese is my all time favorite. I really liked turkey, but I can’t have that anymore.

What do you like to do when your parents aren’t home?

I get to curl up on the couch; I’m not allowed u there when mom and dad are home.

Is there anything you would like to tell us about your work with Safe Humane Chicago or anything else?

I like being the center of attention.
