We asked Birdie a few questions.

Do you have any jobs? Tell us about them and what you like most about them.                                               Once a month I visit the folks at Esperanza Community Center. And every week I go to a couple programs for SHC. With Youth Leaders I get to visit schools where lots of kids pet me. I also go to the Illinois Youth Correctional facility and give some good ole southern lovin’ to the young men there.

Do you have any “hobbies”?
I just love taking the stuffing out of toys. If I weren’t a bloodhound I’d surely be a plastic surgeon.

Do you do any tricks?   What is your favorite?
My favorite “trick” is sleeping with loud snoring. But I’m pretty good at giving “High Five”. Bet my paw is as big as your hand.
What is your favorite toy?
At the moment it’s a parrot that I de-stuffed.
What do you like to do when your parents aren’t home?
Wrestlemania tag team with my brother. We rearrange furniture. Sometimes I look out the window and sing sad arias. The neighbors thought we had an organ but it was just me humming.

Is there anything you would like to tell us about your work with Safe Humane Chicago or anything else?
I love working with all these SHC guys, ones with four legs and those with only two. People are so nice to me. I get lots of positive feedback, head rubs, kisses and string cheese, and come on now, what could possibly be better than that??
